This year’s flu season is off to a weird (and early) start

The new flu season is here, and according to a report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, it’s a few weeks early. But that’s not the only strange thing happening: The season is being driven by the slow-moving, less-common Type B influenza strain, as opposed to the swiftly mutating Type A that is more typical. It’s unclear what that means for this year’s flu season, but you can get ahead of it by getting vaccinated ASAP.

Bing Maps make the revived Flight Simulator eerily realistic

The rumors are true: Microsoft’s venerable Flight Simulator game will make its return sometime next year. But one big change you’ll see is Microsoft’s development of its Google Maps competitor Bing, which will power the game’s map with all the latest data and details. This alone could make the game more realistic than ever, allowing aspiring pilots to use real landmarks to navigate their way as they might in actual flight.
